Pulsark is a sample-based groovestation for iPhone, iPad and Mac - a sampler, a 16-track rhythm sequencer and a 16-strip mixer, standalone and as an AUv3 instrument. How do I get help?
Email post@vaagfabrikat.no. Please include your iPhone, iPad or Mac model, your iOS, iPadOS or macOS version, and the Pulsark version and build number - they are shown in the app under Settings > About Pulsark. Bug reports with steps to reproduce get fixed fastest.
How quickly will I get a reply?
We reply within two working days. If something is broken badly enough to stop you working, say so in the subject line and it will be looked at first.
What do I need to run Pulsark?
An iPhone or iPad with iOS or iPadOS 18 or later, or a Mac with macOS 15 or later. On iPhone, Pulsark is its own compact portrait interface - the full product minus the iPad and Mac exclusives (Tracker, the Orbit and Euclid sequencer sub-modes, velocity editing, the per-pad modulation controls, the fill randomize row, MIDI learn and the shortcut catalogue). Pulsark runs standalone and as an AUv3 plug-in inside a compatible host such as AUM, Cubasis, Logic Pro for iPad or GarageBand, listed as "VAAG Fabrikat: Pulsark". On Mac, Pulsark is a native app built with Mac Catalyst - standalone and as an AUv3 instrument in Logic Pro, Ableton Live and Reaper. One purchase covers iPhone, iPad and Mac.
Is there a manual?
Yes - a PDF user manual, linked at the top of this page and at /manual. It covers every screen, every control and every keyboard shortcut, and it is generated from the app itself, so it matches the build it is versioned against. Older versions stay downloadable.
Can I still join the beta?
No - the public TestFlight beta is closed, and no new testers are being added. If you already have Pulsark from TestFlight, it keeps working until that TestFlight build expires. To hear when Pulsark lands on the App Store, leave your email on the front page and confirm it from the link we send.
Do I need an account?
No. Pulsark has no accounts and no sign-in. Your projects, samples and sound banks live on your device, and nothing is uploaded anywhere.
Where are my projects and samples stored?
On your device, in storage the app shares with its AUv3 plug-in. The Files app on iPhone and iPad shows a Pulsark folder with two folders in it: Samples, for audio files you want to load onto pads, and Recordings, where every take saved to a pad is copied as a WAV. Projects are not in that folder. To back up, use your usual device backup, export a single project or sound bank, or use “Back up all…” in the Files dialog: pick a folder - iCloud Drive, a shared drive, a memory stick - and Pulsark writes one file per saved project there, plus your sound banks and your Randomator and Generator templates. Backing up to the same folder again replaces the previous copies. To restore, import the projects as usual and bring the templates back with “Restore templates…”.
What is Pulsark Studio?
A free browser tool for building sound kits for Pulsark. It starts you from the app’s own factory sound banks, lets you add your own samples locally in your browser, exports a .pkbank file, and uploads nothing. Import the file in the app under Files → Sound banks → Import, on iPhone, iPad or Mac.
How do I unsubscribe, or have my email deleted?
Every email we send has an unsubscribe link. To have your address removed entirely, or to ask what we hold about you, email post@vaagfabrikat.no and we will act on it promptly.
