Pulsark is a sample-based groovestation for iPhone, iPad and Mac - a sampler and 16-track rhythm sequencer - currently in pre-release beta. How do I get help?
Email hello@pulsark.app. It reaches the developer directly. Please include your iPhone, iPad or Mac model, your iOS, iPadOS or macOS version, and the Pulsark build number if you have it - it is shown in the app under Settings. Bug reports with steps to reproduce get fixed fastest.
How quickly will I get a reply?
Pulsark is made by one person, so replies usually arrive within a couple of working days. If something is broken badly enough to stop you working, say so in the subject line and it will be looked at first.
What do I need to run Pulsark?
An iPhone or iPad running iOS or iPadOS 18 or later. On iPhone, Pulsark is its own compact portrait interface - the full product minus the iPad and Mac exclusives (the Orbit and Euclid sequencer sub-modes, velocity editing, the per-pad modulation controls, the fill randomizer, MIDI learn and the shortcut catalogue). Pulsark runs standalone and as an AUv3 plug-in inside a compatible host such as AUM, Cubasis, Logic Pro for iPad or GarageBand, listed as "VAAG Audio: Pulsark". There is also a native Mac app, built with Mac Catalyst for macOS 15 or later - standalone and as an AUv3 instrument in Logic Pro, Ableton Live and Reaper on Mac. The Mac version is in the public beta now and ships as a universal purchase with the iPhone and iPad app.
Is there a manual?
Yes - a full PDF user manual, linked at the top of this page and at /manual. It covers every screen, every control and every keyboard shortcut, and it is generated from the app itself, so it matches the build it is versioned against. Older versions stay downloadable.
How do I join the beta?
The public beta is open now for iPhone, iPad and Mac, distributed through Apple TestFlight. Sign up on the front page, then confirm your email from the link we send - the confirmation page hands you the TestFlight invite. Spots are limited and go first come, first served. If the link says the beta is full, join the list and we will open the next round of places to subscribers first.
Do I need an account?
No. Pulsark has no accounts and no sign-in. Your projects, samples and sound banks live on your device, and nothing is uploaded anywhere.
Where are my projects and samples stored?
On your device, in the app’s own storage - reachable through the Files app on iPhone and iPad and Finder on Mac. Back them up with your usual device backup, export a single project or sound bank, or use “Back up all…” in the Files dialog: pick a folder - iCloud Drive, a shared drive, a memory stick - and Pulsark writes one file per saved project there, plus your sound banks and your Randomator and Generator templates. Backing up to the same folder again replaces the previous copies rather than piling them up, and restoring is the ordinary import. On Mac, run it from the standalone app: a plug-in inside a host is not allowed to write to a folder you choose.
What is Pulsark Studio?
A free browser tool for building sound kits for Pulsark. It starts you from the app’s own factory sample kits, lets you add your own samples locally in your browser, exports a .pkbank file, and uploads nothing. Import the file through Files → Banks → Import, on iPhone, iPad or Mac.
How do I unsubscribe, or have my email deleted?
Every email we send has an unsubscribe link. To have your address removed entirely, or to ask what we hold about you, email hello@pulsark.app and we will act on it promptly.
